The Lodhi

Previously the Aman New Delhi, The Lodhi opened February 1, 2013 as a boutique city property reflecting all the values of an Aman resort with a dynamic, new interpretation of "simple and easy" luxury. The recent sale of Amanresorts back to its founder, Adrian Zecha, without the inclusion of the Aman New Delhi has given the opportunity to create a proudly independent, standalone entity. The Lodhi epitomizes contemporary India but also reflects Indian tradition and history in the name, the location, and the city. Centrally located on nearly seven acres on the “green” edge of Lutyens or Imperial Delhi and across the road from the Delhi Golf Course, The Lodhi offers a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere in the restaurants, courtyards and public areas but also the seclusion, peace and club- like atmosphere of the seven floors of guest accommodation.

The city hotel enjoys a verdant setting, situated on Lodhi Road near the Lodhi Gardens, an extensive area of parkland with old trees and gardens and beautifully designed and built tombs dating from the Lodhi era (1451 to 1526). The Lodhi is 10 minutes from the center of New Delhi (Connaught Place), some 40 minutes from the International Airport and close to many neighborhood shopping precincts.

With five distinct seasons, including the monsoon which usually arrives in July each year, the favorite time for travel and sightseeing in Northern India is from early October until late April. At the height of the short winter, between December and January, days are crisp and sunny and nights can be chilly. During this time, temperatures typically range from a high of 23°C (73°F) to an overnight low of approximately 2°C (36°F).

The Lodhi’s 40 rooms and suites are located in an elegant nine-story, two winged structure. All rooms and suites were extensively renovated in 2012 to reflect a contemporary flair with extensive use of local materials. All rooms and suites have their own private plunge pool and extensive balconies. Furnished for comfort and ease, all rooms and suites have king size beds, upholstered sofas and chairs, desks, and ambient lighting. Each also has a combined bedroom and living area and the bathroom facilities include twin vanities, a shower, bathtub and separate toilet. There is one Suite and four rooms on each floor.

There are several food and beverage outlets in The Lodhi offering fresh, seasonal and honest food in a warm and friendly environment. The concierge staff will happily make suggestions and bookings in the many Delhi restaurants which offer a huge array of different cuisines. 24-hour in room dining is also available.

In a serene and secluded destination on the Lower Ground Floor, the four male and four female private treatment rooms each with private shower, steam room, bathtub, vanity and daybed. The extensive spa and beauty menu offers pampering spa rituals drawing on India’s wealth of therapeutic traditions dating back thousands of years as well as other international therapies, stretching, Thai, deep tissue and sports massages. A signature traditional treatment is Shirodara in which warm blended oil is poured in a continuous flow directly onto the forehead, and said to improve circulation and boost vitality. The Spa also features two traditional hammam steam areas where guests can rejuvenate with pampering bath and body scrub rituals. Hair studio, manicures, pedicures, threading and waxing are also available.

Recreation and Health Center features a Technogym with qualified professional instructors and personal trainers and a separate gym area offers TRX and other gym-related classes. Guests can also enjoy private or group classes in our Pilates Studio which is fully equipped with several reformers. In a sunken courtyard and adjacent to the spa, is a 50-meter swimming pool, heated through the winter months. Other sports facilities include three tennis and two squash courts, with qualified and experienced markers available to play with. Complimentary yoga classes are offered each morning to guests.
